Holistic Massage

The word ‘Holistic’ is derived from the Greek word ‘holos’ meaning whole. Holistic massage takes into account the person’s whole being, i.e. mind, body and spirit, rather than just the symptom or ailment.

We often overlook how much our daily lives affect our bodies. The stress of the everyday working environment can lead to feelings of tiredness and anxiousness. These factors are known as ‘integral biology’, and all are taken into account when treating a person holistically.

The massage and aftercare advice are tailored the suit the individual, based on their integral biology. This helps the person to help him or herself by following advice given by the holistic therapist, such as dietary and lifestyle changes.

An excellent way to relax and rejuvenate yourself!

Deep Tissue Massage

‘Deep tissue’ is a massage technique that focuses on realigning the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) can be found in muscles. These can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Deep tissue massage uses deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles, physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.

Use is made of knuckles, fists, elbows and forearms (hands-free massage), as well as techniques including Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Stretching (PNF)

Deep tissue massage concentrates on treating specific problems, such as:

v  Chronic pain

Seated Acupressure/Onsite Massage

Acupressure Massage is an ancient Chinese technique based on the principles of acupuncture, without the use of needles. The practitioner uses fingers, heels of the hands and elbows to stimulate acupressure points on the back, arms, hands, neck, and head, bringing balance to the flow of energy throughout the body. It is performed on a portable chair that completely supports the client's body, and does not require the removal of clothing or the use of oils.

Seated Acupressure Massage is beneficial to the circulatory, muscular, nervous, immune, and lymphatic systems, leaving the client feeling de-stressed and relaxed, but energised and clearly focused.

The following Seated Acupressure Massage treatments are available:

20 minutes- £10

40 minutes- £20

Aromatherapy Massage

Organic and ethically sourced essential oils are blended to each individual. The oils have a vibratory affinity with certain organs and systems in the body, they can balance, heal, energise or calm as needed. The smell is uplifting and the oils are small enough to reach the bloodstream in as little time as 20 minutes.   The massage is soothing and works on the lymphatic system to increase uptake of oils and strengthen the immune system, I also work on   neuro-muscular points to balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, the regulating part of the nervous system, which is traditional in real Aromatherapy when first pioneered in France.

The following massage treatments are available:
30 minutes - £20 (Back/Neck and Shoulder)
60 minutes - £30 (Full Body)
